Amish Rentown Garden Walk and Bake Sale

Every year for the past four years the Bremen, Indiana, Amish community called Rentown is having their Annual Garden Walk and Bake Sale Saturday, June 15, 9 AM – 3 PM. Everyone wanting to attend will meet at the Amish Rolling Meadows School to get their map, registration, bake sale and lunch will be going on all day.

New This Year at the Garden Walk, is a Working Maple Syrup Camp and the ladies are serving lunch, for a fee, of course. I love to see the clean weed-free gardens of flowers and vegetables. I also love the farm animals that I get to visit, horses, cows, chickens, goats and cattle dogs. Don’t forget to bring your cameras!

The Amish families are very friendly and very thankful that the money that is donated that day is used for the Amish School for the coming year. Come stay at the Scottish Bed and Breakfast and make an adventure of it.

Date Set For Amish Garden Walk – June 16, 2012

Since today is the first day of spring, what better way to celebrate the changing of the seasons than marking our calendars for one of the highlights of the year – the Amish Garden Walk right here in Bremen, Indiana!

Amish Flower Garden

Every year the Amish community in Bremen, Indiana holds a “Garden Walk” with several Amish families participating. The annual Amish Garden Walk in the Rentown area is Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. They ask for a donation ($7.00) which helps the local Amish school. There are always new discoveries to be made among the neat rows of vegetables and bright flowers. (And no weeds!)

The Amish Garden Walk starts at the Amish School house with a sweet snack and beverage for everyone to enjoy. They also sell fresh baked goods, with proceeds benefiting the Amish community. As we walk to the different Amish gardens, the Amish grocery store gives out “FREE” homemade ice cream. It’s a great way to spend a day, and we’re helping the children in the Amish community learn by donating to their school! Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Amish Acres Round Barn Theatre Season near Bremen, Indiana

SPRING IS IN THE AIR! Every year when Amish Acres opens for the season we are excited to see what the plays will be. The “Old Rugged Cross” will run April 14 – May 29. Amish Acres will be open Thursday through Sunday April 14-17 and Wednesday through Sunday beginning April 20. The restaurant, cheese factory, gift shop area and tours of the farm house are just a few of the FUN things to do at Amish Acres in Nappanee, Indiana. Their website is: www.amishacres.com. Come stay at the Scottish Bed and Breakfast which is only 8 miles from Amish Acres. One of the flowering “Quilt Gardens” is located at Amish Acres.
